A strategic and inclusive leader who aims to drive positive change for all, Mary has 20+ years’ experience in communications, DEI, wellbeing and business. She has worked with global multinationals, SMEs, start-ups, and a family business. She is a founding member of Ireland’s first LGBTQ+ professional business network Work With Pride and is a disability awareness advocate, and is a mentoring partner for University College Cork’s Disability Access Support program.
Mary has spoken at multiple events on diversity and inclusion, including at the international Conference on Diversity in Organisations, Communities and Nations; Enterprise Ireland’s Annual Employee Forum, CIPD Ireland South’s Conference, Network Ireland’s Annual Conference, among many more, while has also contributed a number of articles on the topic, including for d&I Leaders.
Mary is an award-winning author having advocated for equality for female athletes for more than 17 years while working as a sports journalist. In 2018, she won the Irish An Post Sports Book of the Year for Game Changer with Cora Staunton, for Penguin Random House. In 2015, her first book - book Relentless – The Inside Story of the Cork Ladies Footballers – which tells the story of one of Ireland’s highest ever performing teams was also short-listed for the Setanta Ireland Sports Book of the Year.
